WFSC Past Creative Writing Facilitators and long time members, Mike Deregowski and Kelsey Hoople, challenge you to participate in our 7th Annual #nationalpoetrymonth.
1 poem per day for 30 days. 😉
Feel free to work backwards if you miss some prompts. Post your creation in the comments here (must be a site member) or on our Facebook page <HERE> to have the chance to enter the Poetry Book Submission at the end of this challenge.
To be included in the anthology, you must be a member in good standing with the Writers Foundation of Strathcona County ($20/year) and post at least 1 poem to our website or Facebook page based on the #poetrymonth #writingprompts before the end of April. There will be a $30 submission fee to put toward the cost of publishing from our sponsor Dream Write Publishing for the book but you do get an author copy.

Spark of Desire
Spark of desire--on fire for lust
why must I linger in darkness
to enhance the claim of "out, out!"
Extinguish against self-love
When I need to spark my desire and rise above
self-loathing to giving and sharing
overcome distinguishing shame
and growing to burst forth in a creative flame.
